ADHD Assessment

ADHD Assessment
One of our most sought-after services is a comprehensive ADHD Assessment in adults. Many individuals come to realise they are experiencing symptoms of ADHD (such as inattention, restlessness or difficulty focusing) either because these were missed in childhood (often due to gender-related diagnostic biases) or because the challenges have become more noticeable later in life. People often pursue assessment after discussing their concerns with others, coming across information on social media or conducting their own research.
What is Involved in an Assessment?
We are committed to providing our clients with the highest level of care. From your first contact with us through to the completion of your assessment, you can expect professionalism, clarity and compassion. Our team is dedicated to delivering accurate results, personalised recommendations and an outstanding standard of customer service throughout your experience.
Clinical Interview conducted by a Psychologist (1.5-hours)
During the interview, the psychologist will explore your background and current daily functioning. They will ask about traumatic life events, education, relationships, current symptoms and challenges with ADHD, substance use, friendships, work and more.
You will also complete the DIVA screening interview questions at the start of the session, giving the psychologist a general sense of where you may fit on the ADHD continuum. You can learn more about DIVA by clicking here.
N.B. A lot of information is covered in a short period for the purposes of the report. Please note this is not counselling. Many people benefit from counselling after completing the assessment, and this is offered to all clients.
Step 1

Completion of Online Psychometric Tests (~2-hours)
At the end of the session, the psychologist will send you a suite of Psychometric Tests to complete in your own time. Total testing time is approximately 2-hours, and tests can be completed over multiple sessions. These tests cover the following topics:
-
Cognitive Testing
-
Mental Health Screening
-
Disability Screening
-
Personality Testing
-
ADHD Testing
-
Autism Screening
The aim is not only to assess for ADHD but also to provide a broad picture of your cognitive and psychological functioning. It is crucial that both the psychologist and psychiatrist have this information to confidently diagnose ADHD.
Step 2

After 4-6 weeks, you will receive a comprehensive report from the psychologist. This report will also be sent to your psychiatrist for medication review and diagnostic confirmation. While most clients use psychiatrists through Telepsychiatrist, our psychologists also collaborate with private psychiatrists across Australia.
The report provides the psychiatrist with an accurate summary of your clinical history, psychological functioning, and recommendations regarding an ADHD diagnosis, enabling quick and precise decision-making.
